Old Merrill Barber Bridge (Vero Beach) 1994
April 27, 2008 — On our way from Palm Bay and Melbourne to Highland Beach, we took a detour into Vero Beach on the old Merrill Barber Causeway over the Indian River on the ICW. You can see the new bridge under construction a couple of blocks north of the old bridge. The new bridge was completed early in 1995 and the old drawbridge was completely removed. NEW INFO (2009): I just did a Google Map of this area on the mainland side at Royal Palm Point... You would never know that there is where the old bridge approach was!
